SKYE is a Husky who will be 1 year old in a couple of weeks. (27th July). She came to us with a broken leg in plaster, but unfortunately she developed a serious infection in her ankle. After much consultation, our vets advised us that the kindest thing to do was to amputate her leg. She has coped brilliantly & doesn’t seem to know that she only has three legs, & she’s a much happier dog now! Skye is a very loving & friendly girl, so will need a home with someone around for a lot of the time, & she could easily live with another dog. She loves children (she’s still a “child” herself!) & will play for hours. Huskies are an energetic breed &, even on three legs, Skye will need plenty of exercise & space to run off lead once she is back to full fitness in a few weeks. Be warned though – Huskies can be quite vocal at times, both at play & when left, so please consider any neighbours. Don’t be put off – Skye is just a normal, young, loving Husky but with three legs!
